This is one of my favourite getaways when I need to step back, reflect, reset and recharge. I can not say enough about how much I love Granville Island Hotel, it's location, the staff and surrounding area. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

As with most hotel properties in Vancouver, this hotel is way too pricey for what it is and in desperate need of updates and repairs. The whirlpool and fitness area were the most disappointing. The rooms were clean and functional, but the furniture and decor is outdated, carpets and fixtures need replacing. Our room faced the parking lot on one side and was not private or quiet. The front desk staff was dismissive and unwelcoming. We have dined at Dockside, the hotel restaurant, in the past and enjoyed it, and we returned for a Happy Hour drink during our stay. The only complaint about the restaurant is that it, too, is overpriced. The location on Granville Island is, of course, ideal, if it will be a top spot on your To-Do list during your stay in Vancouver, however, it is easy to get to Granville (and fun) via the Aqua Bus or False Creek Ferry that you can catch from other areas around False Creek.
