Visited JaBistro on a Thursday night, had reservations so we were seated right away. Aesthetics were really nice, staff were really friendly and service was amazing. I ordered the vegetarian agedashi, which was delicious! Had the basque cheesecake for dessert which was great. Price is $$-$$$. Highly recommended checking this place out!
Reserved a spot and came here on a Tuesday night. The vibe of the restaurant would be perfect for a date night, with candle lights on each table.

My top 3: Eggplant, Curry (it was a tie between curry and tai carpaccio), and Tokyo Toast

Sashimi ($32 for 9 pieces)
It came with Hamachi, Scallop, and Snapper. The pieces were tasty and fresh. It felt a bit expensive, but they were good.

Cold Served Agedashi Eggplant ($9)
I love eggplant, so I made sure to order this. My friend who wasn't too keen on ordering this said it was the highlight of the dinner. lol
It was well soaked in dashi broth, well cooked, and tasted quite delicate but very tasty.

Gailan Gomaae ($9)
I liked how cooked the gailan was (not overly cooked with a nice crunch), but it tasted a bit too vinegar-y for a gomaae. I'm pretty sure it's because of the dressing they use, but I would probably not order it again.

Beef Tataki ($21)
The beef seemed a bit too cooked, and the fried chickpea added for a nice presentation, but was very dry and crusty for it to go with the dish personally.

Tai Carpaccio ($19)
This went REALLY well with the vinaigrette and salsa. I liked it much more than the tataki.

Anchovy Potato Salad & Chips ($10)
Great price. The anchovy taste was quite faint, and I found the potato chunks to be too big. I liked the idea of adding the taro chips, but I would want a potato salad that's a bit more flavorful and perhaps creamy.

Corn Kakiage ($9)
It was good. I love corn and I love kakiage in general, so seeing the reviews, I was definitely overly hyped about it. But it tasted like it looks. I do wish there was a bit more corn.

Tebasaki ($15)
Great value and pretty solid taste. The meat was quite juicy as well.

Saba Miso-ni ($13)
I was surprised by how much I got for $13. It was also very well cooked and the sauce was great.

Karashi Ribs ($16)
The meat was tender, juicy, and fell off the bone with ease. While, I thought this would be my highlight, the karashi mustard overpowered the dish a bit.

Pork Belly Miso Katsu ($16)
It was good. I personally liked it more than the tebasaki, but it might be because I am very used to the taste of the tebasaki since I've made similar ones at home.

Gyudon ($15)
It was good but nothing special. The price was good but felt more expensive than the other dishes we ordered.

Imanishi Beef Curry ($15)
Great fruity Japanese curry gravy. I loved it. I just wish they put more beef chunks as it was hard to find the chunks.

Tokyo Toast ($9)
This was definitely one of my favorite. I did not expect it to be that good. The toast was a bit crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside, with a nice combination of icecream and the texture and taste of toasted soba.

I found this place to be a very affordable place for the quality of food you get as well. I'm also glad that they were transparent about how many pieces comes with each dish. And how the server was telling us it might be too much food for us when we initially ordered, and explored food menu options that might be better for the first round of ordering. They were also very prompt in changing the dirty plates for us as well.

We went here for dinner last night and it was amazing. The quality of fish was excellent. We appreciate the attention to detail the restaurant adds to their dishes (fried garlic on sushi, please keep doing this…it’s very tasty!)

Order for 2:
- Sushi boat - comes with sashimi, sushi and rolls
- Torched salmon was absolutely great way to end the meal

Can’t wait to back here again. Staff is attentive and always greeting you with a smile! You can tell this place is a locals favourite, there were many walk ins and pickups while we we were dining in.

We went there for lunch and ordered the Prix Fixe. It’s a five course menu. The lobster miso soup is good but not much lobster taste in it. The sashimi and sushi is perfect. The scallops are very sweet and tuna is melting in mouth. Everything is fresh. The wagyu and uni can be better. The atmosphere is great. The server introduced every dishes to us and is very friendly. Overall experience is great and I’ll definitely come back again.
I've been meaning to write a review for a while now, and after my recent visit, I just couldn't put it off any longer.

Discovered a hidden gem in our neighborhood - a cozy sushi place. Fresh food, beautiful presentation, and the amazing hot sake. The sake here is a perfect complement to the sushi rolls. Enjoying a slightly tipsy moment with friends, sharing laughter, and savoring the fresh food - it's a feeling that's hard to beat.

The staff is sweet, the atmosphere is relaxing - it's more than a meal; it's a place to connect with loved ones. As someone working in dietetics and nutrition, I appreciate the healthy options and cleanliness.

I really enjoyed my Tonkatsu Miso Ramen. The broth was quite tasty, and the sprouts, eggs, etc. were very good. The only drawback for me was that the noodles were much thinner than I'm used to... I like them a little thicker. The staff are Japanese, so there's an authenticity to Tohenboku's food that you might not get at other area ramen shops. I'll be back!

Petit restaurant à Toronto, des ramènes au top, service rapide, pensez à réserver car pas beaucoup de place assise
Delicious food, authentic Japanese taste and very friendly staff. Their "make your own Ramen" options are great. The veggie options are also tasty and filling.
Sansotei Ramen on Dundas is a great restaurant for ramen lovers like myself. I've been here the other day. The rich, flavorful broth is a true standout, and the noodles have the perfect texture. I highly recommend trying their Tonkotsu Black Ramen – it's my personal favorite. The melt-in-your-mouth pork belly and the perfectly boiled egg are the icing on the cake. The service is prompt, and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. The ambiance is cozy, making it a great spot for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner. Enjoy your visit to Sansotei Ramen!

Recently dined at JaBistro in Toronto, and it was an exquisite experience. The ambiance was both stylish and inviting, perfectly embodying the essence of upscale dining. As for the food, it was a visual and culinary delight. The sushi pieces, adorned with delicate garnishes, not only looked impeccable but tasted just as incredible. The flavors were authentic and rich, making each bite a memorable one. The presentation of the dishes, especially with the vibrant colors of the sushi, was picture-perfect. Additionally, the cocktails complemented the meal, both in taste and aesthetics. Highly recommend JaBistro for anyone seeking a genuine Japanese dining experience in Toronto!
That place is a pure gem!
Ramens are just delicious, service is attentive and quick.
Second time I visited, and the best I have found outside of Japan so far!

loved the food and fast service (i had the daily special), it was busy in here! my only complaint is the seating is very compact felt like we were on a date with the people next to us 😅
I was struggling with my allergies.. had also been painting and all the dust from the sanding.. came in there asking for some Strong wasabi to go with my rolls.. it was lovely when I came back They said they put extra wasabi just for me.. very caring staff and people working there and making the sushi!!
Good experience and great atmosphere!

Ordered:
- Corn Kakiage (a must!!)
- Tai Carpaccio (very fresh)
- Monkfish Liver Pate
- Pickles (light + great side dish)
- Nagoya Ramen (it was good but nothing outstanding to me; I wouldn’t get it again)
- Karashi Ribs (yummy & tender but sweet)
- Tebasaki (delicious!)
- Imanishi Beef Curry
- Tokyo Toast

The waiter saw that we had some pate leftover but no bread so he offered to bring more and we accepted, BUT we didn’t know that we’d be charged for those 4.5 thin pieces until we saw the bill (a heads up would’ve been nice, especially considering it was barely any bread anyway).

Overall nice place to eat with friends especially if you enjoy sharing food.
been wanting to try this place for a while and it was worth the hype! was super super happy with everything. the food, service and vibe of it was top tier. shared everything amongst 3 people and it was about $55~/person + tip.

the corn kaarage was sweet and salty and crispy. the pickles were very refreshing. the star of the show were the ceviche and the pate! i loved combining the two for a bruschetta vibe.

we also had chicken wings, ramen and curry. they were all soso flavourful, tasty and had a great texture.

tokyo toast was also amazing! creamy but light and crispy from the toast.
4.5/5

Small location for this chain, but very conveniently located between the AGO and Eaton Center. It is hard to get a table around peak hours, especially if you are in a group due to the limited seating. Washrooms are downstairs, inaccessible.

Server very nice, and fast, expect to have your food in less than 10 minutes.

Consistently great ramen, but also nothing outstanding.
I got the tonkotsu black ramen for lunch, with thin noodles to better soak up the broth. Each component of the ramen is decent - noodles, soft boiled egg, chasu pork belly, wood ear mushrooms, and broth. There is a drizzle of oil which adds a smokey/burnt taste to this dish. Price is fair for what you get.
It's a cute and cozy place. Definitely one of the best places to have fresh and warm sushi. They have multiple veggie options. I was happy with everything. Will definitely be visiting often. The staff was very humble and quick with service. Forgot to take pictures, was excited to try out the food. Next time!
It’s a dark, date night, vibe inside. Service was good and vibes were right. It feels like they put thought into how the food comes out because it was spaced well given the tapas style plates.

We got the sashimi plate, octopus, shrimp salad, the fried corn and the anchovy toast. Everything tasted great but nothing tasted outstanding and made us think “wow we need to come back for this”. My favourite was the shrimp salad. It was really fresh with the cilantro and cucumbers. Second favourite was the corn because I’ve never had that before and it had great texture and crunch.
Delicioso.

Nice and clean Japanese restaurant under a new management. Fresh sashimi and the tempura vegetables were cooked to perfection - soft and tasty - unlike most others. Prices are decent to the amount of food served with great care and friendliness and politeness. Visited today (Oct 5, 2023) and the standards are maintained. However, the wooden top tables are sticky and might need a change for the better.

Bem servido, entradas otimas!!! Um pouco caro ;)
O guioza estava ótimo, mas o ramen de frango parece um miojo... Bem sem graça mesmo. O de porco estava mais saboroso.
